It appears that last weekend, in Boston, a couple of game developers (15 + 1 sound dude and 1 artist dude)... got together and made in just one weekend (36 hours to be precise) ... 8 games ! one of which... is... 3D ! (but with no download at the moment of speaking).
God I wish something like that would happen in my town... might be actually cool... well in the mean time...
